  • Meet Corey

Corey Paris is uniquely equipped to be the energetic leader and passionate, yet common-sense problem solver that the 146th district needs in its next state representative.

A proud resident of Stamford Downtown, Corey is a product of the Connecticut State Colleges and University system. He was educated at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury and after graduation, was drawn to the vibrant community where he now makes his home.

Pragmatic, genuine and passionate about serving people and producing results, Corey has dedicated his professional life to raising awareness about systemic injustices and prejudices that plague marginalized communities. He takes seriously the commitment to listening to and representing all of his constituents and finding creative ways to meet their needs.

Let’s face it — there are many issues and areas for concern that keep people up at night with worry. Corey has those same kinds of concerns because he has had to do things the hard way himself. Corey knows what matters to his neighbors and the people who interacts with and does business with in Stamford, which is why he is willing to listen and seek common-sense solutions. Among the key issues that are of utmost importance to Corey are: education, health care, supporting business growth and transportation.

As a fundraising and development professional, Corey has successfully demonstrated his ability to hear and understand a need and translate it into a plan tailored to solve the problem or meet/exceed the need. He has raised funds for University of New Haven, political candidates and campaigns, and most recently for the Hispanic Health Council. In these roles, he has raised not only money, but also awareness about the importance of supporting student scholarships, cultural programs, and electing men and women with progressive values to office.

Corey has developed his ability to collaborate for the common good through his service on multiple boards, including the Ives Authority for the Performing Arts, the WCSU Alumni Association and the Multicultural Council for the City of Stamford.

He’s dedicated to serving his community, state and party in a way that brings positive change.
